The Europabad Karlsruhe has once again demonstrated its outstanding quality in the wellness and sauna area: Both the Wellness Stars 5-star certification and the SaunaPremium quality seal were successfully confirmed. This means that the Europabad continues to be one of the leading wellness and sauna centres in the region.
Wellness Stars 5 stars - tested quality at the highest level
The Wellness Stars 5-star award stands for excellent wellness quality and is subject to strict criteria. Certified facilities are assessed by trained inspectors during personal on-site visits. Among other things, the equipment of the wellness areas, the execution of the treatments, the qualification of the staff as well as service orientation and holistic offers are tested. The Europabad fulfils all of these criteria, together with the in-house spa area EuropaSpa.
Outstanding for Karlsruhe
Particularly noteworthy: Karlsruhe is the only city in Germany with two municipally operated pools to achieve 5-star certification. In addition to the Europabad, the Vierordtbad thermal spa also received this highest certification. Across Germany, only 11 spas were awarded five stars in the 2025 audit year, meaning that the two Karlsruhe spas are among the top group. This symbolises the quality of Karlsruhe's spa landscape.
SaunaPremium - the highest level in the German Sauna Association
In addition, the Europabad was once again awarded the SaunaPremium quality seal. This certificate is the highest level in the "German Sauna Association" certification system, which has been in existence since 2008. It confirms a particularly wide range of offers, high quality of stay and excellent standards in the areas of equipment, infusion culture, hygiene and service.
