Karlsruher Bäder operates a total of 10 pools, including the Europabad, the Fächerbad, the Vierordtbad thermal baths, the Grötzingen indoor pool, the Adolf-Ehrmann-Bad in Neureut, the Weiherhofbad in Durlach and the four outdoor pools Sonnenbad, Turmbergbad, Freibad Rüppurr and Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört. In addition to the pools, the Karlsruhe public baths also operate the Durlach campsite.

During the indoor pool season (approx. end of the summer holidays until the outdoor pools open) there is early swimming in the following pools: Weiherhofbad and Adolf-Ehrmann-Bad. Please note the opening times of the respective pools.

Early swimming is also available in our outdoor pools from the opening of the respective pool: Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. in the Turmbergbad and Friday from 7 a.m. in the Rüppurr outdoor pool.

No. Tickets that have already been paid for are excluded from subsequent exchange. There is also no money back in the event of a thunderstorm.

In all Karlsruhe pools, all birthday children up to their 17th birthday receive free day admission to the pool on their birthday on presentation of an identity card or child ID, and the sauna can be booked at an additional rate.

For the Adolf-Ehrmann-Bad, Weiherhofbad, Sonnenbad, Turmbergbad, Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört and Freibad Rüppurr pools, there are multiple tickets (11 and 25 tickets) that can be used as group tickets.

Group bookings can be made in advance for the Europabad. The conditions can be found on the page there.

In all pools in Karlsruhe you can pay with cash or non-cash with EC card / credit card. Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, VPay, Girocard are accepted.

Yes, if proof is provided that everyone lives in the same household (e.g. address on the person's ID) and that they are their own children (e.g. birth certificate).

The family ticket is valid for one or 2 adults with up to 3 children (under 18). Families with 4 or more children (under the age of 18) can use the family card on presentation of their family pass / family record book at the ticket office. Alternatively, copies of the birth certificates from the family register can be sent to info@ka-baeder.de approx. 2 weeks before the visit to obtain authorisation to use the family card.

The state family pass can be applied for at the responsible city or municipal administration.

Please note that requests are only processed from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 3 pm.

Can I enter the women's sauna as a woman with male genitals?
All persons who have the gender entry "female" on their birth certificate have access to the women's sauna.

Can I enter the men's sauna as a man with a female genitalia?
All persons who have a "male" gender entry on their birth certificate are admitted to the men's sauna.

No, there are no annual passes for the Karlsruhe pools.

In principle, the BadePass is designed for one person.

However, additional admissions can be paid for, which are then discounted in the same way.

In the Europabad, the Vierordtbad thermal baths and the Fächerbad, admission for additional persons must be paid for separately with the BadePass at the cash desk before entering the pool, as a medium is required to lock the lockers and pay in the pool.

In the four outdoor pools Sonnenbad, Freibad Rüppurr, Turmbergbad and Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört as well as in the Adolf-Ehrmann-Bad and Weiherhofbad, the BadePass can be held directly at the turnstile to book admission for additional persons. With each scan, the adult rate minus the discount is deducted from the BadePass credit and the turnstile is released for one person. Discounted tickets can be purchased at the cash desk, these are also discounted.

The Karlsruhe Pass includes discounts from participating municipalities in areas such as leisure, education and more.

Season tickets are only available on site at Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört, Sonnenbad, Turmbergbad and Freibad Rüppurr. This means that season tickets cannot be purchased online.

Single admission entitles the holder to enter the pool once. It is not possible to leave the pool and then return. The ticket loses its validity when you leave the pool.

The wearing of sports trousers is not permitted. Swimming trunks must be worn

Yes, as long as they are bath textiles.

Yes, bathing shoes are allowed in the water.

In principle, water wings are compulsory for all persons who cannot swim and cannot stand in the pool. For the most part, this applies to children.

If, for example, adults can stand safely in the adventure pool of the Europabad (depth 1.35 m), the pool can be used without water wings at their own risk. Children or smaller people under 1.35 metres who cannot swim must wear water wings. Tyres, pool noodles or swimming boards are not sufficient as they can be swept away by the current channel.

Whether swimming with a fin for mermaids / mermen is permitted depends on the pool and pool operation:

• Sonnenbad Karlsruhe: Possible in the non-swimmer pool.
• Rüppurr outdoor pool: If the pool is open (not busy), it is tolerated on request.
• Rheinstrandbad Rappenwört: If bathing operations permit (no peak times), it will be tolerated in the solar pool (multi-purpose pool) near the women's building upon request.
• Turmbergbad: If bathing operations permit (not busy), it will be tolerated following enquiries.
• Weiherhofbad: If bathing operations permit (not busy), it will be tolerated in the non-swimmers' pool upon request.
• Adolf-Ehrmann-Bad: If the pool is open (not busy), it will be tolerated in the non-swimmers' area following enquiries.
• Vierordtbad thermal baths: Not permitted.
• Europabad: Not permitted.
• Fächerbad Karlsruhe: Only permitted for club sports.

No. The use of swimming rings is generally not permitted in the Europabad.

Online tickets for admission to the Europabad itself cannot be purchased in the webshop. Admission tickets must be purchased on site at the Europabad ticket office. However, there is an option to purchase guaranteed admission in the event of high visitor numbers: "Europabad admission guarantee". The admission guarantee can be purchased online in the webshop. There is usually less going on during the week and outside the holidays. This is also worthwhile for your wallet. From Monday to Friday (not on weekends, public holidays and during the school holidays in Karlsruhe), the regular bathing and sauna rates are reduced by 4 euros.

The Europabad is very busy at weekends and during the holidays. The traffic light system on the website shows whether admission is still possible.

If the traffic light system is red, this means that the pool is already very full. However, you can wait outside the bath at your own discretion. However, the waiting time cannot be estimated. Find out about our "admission guarantee" so that you can save waiting time for your visit and ensure guaranteed admission.

Children aged 10 and over may enter the adventure area of the Europabad alone. From the age of 16, children may enter the sauna alone without being accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Snacks can be brought along for small children (in the adventure area). You are not permitted to bring your own food into the sauna area. There is a catering offer on site (bath & sauna). Please do not bring glasses into the bath!

A children's birthday party with catering via the catering service must be requested online.

If the birthday child is celebrating their birthday (up to their 17th birthday) in the Europabad, admission is free for the birthday child on presentation of an ID card for the adventure area. However, admission is not guaranteed. The admission guarantee can be purchased for guaranteed admission.

Pre-booking is generally not necessary, but it is advisable to find out about our group rates and make a group booking to ensure faster admission. Please note the conditions for group bookings: only for clubs, schools, institutions or tour groups - not for private groups. Group bookings are possible for groups of 20 people or more. Group bookings have guaranteed access to the pool.

There is no early morning swimming in the Europabad. Find out about the opening times of the other pools.

The swimmer's pool at the Europabad has a length of 25 metres.

The swimmer's pool has a temperature of 28 °C, the outdoor pool 32.5 °C, the adventure pool 32 °C, the warm water pool 34 °C, the geyser pool 32.5 °C, the cold water pool 16 °C, the children's/paddling pool 32.5 °C and the plunge pool 12 °C.

During the holidays and at weekends, it is open at 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. Outside the holidays during the week, it is open at 3 pm and 5 pm. Special opening times by arrangement.

No, that is not possible. But it is possible to change to the sauna area for an extra charge of €7 per person. Simply hold the person's chip wristband to the turnstile in the sauna area.

Simply report to the Europabad ticket office. You can then pass through the barrier with your motorhome and park on the forecourt. The parking fee is the same as for the Europabad car park.

"Happy Monday" ("pay for 2 hours, stay 4 hours" or "pay for 4 hours, stay the whole day") does not apply on a Monday during school holidays, on bridge days or on public holidays. The promotion is only valid on a Monday outside the school holidays in Karlsruhe, outside public holidays and outside bridge days.

Children may visit the Therme Vierordtbad if accompanied by a legal guardian/parent or a suitable accompanying adult. Children pay the same price as adults.

Visitors aged 16 and over may enter the Vierordtbad thermal baths alone.

In principle, it is not permitted to enter the bathing and sauna area of the Therme Vierordtbad in street clothes.
In every pool in the Therme Vierordtbad, bathers may choose whether to bathe naked or in swimwear at any time. This includes the bathhouse, the indoor and outdoor pools in the sauna area. If you decide to wear swimwear, please wear a towel or bathrobe and cover your swimwear when moving around the spa and when resting or sunbathing on loungers. Because we want to offer all guests - whether with or without textiles - a feel-good atmosphere.

Please note: The sauna cabins are strictly textile-free.

Adults and children pay the same rate at the Therme Vierordtbad.

The 50 metre swimming pool in the Sonnenbad is divided into three areas so that "slower" swimmers can swim in the two outer lanes on the right. The centre two lanes in the Sonnenbad are for medium-speed swimmers and the two left-hand lanes are for fast swimmers.

The swimmers' pool therefore has 6 lanes.

• Swimming goggles and pull-kick are permitted.
• The use of flippers and paddles is only permitted in the lanes for speed swimmers.
• The use of snorkels for training purposes is only permitted in the lanes for speed swimmers. Children are generally not permitted to use them.

Unfortunately there is no waiting list for the midnight sauna.
